ಸಂಸಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಧ್ಯಾತ್ಮ ಒಲಿಯುವುದೇ?

                 ಗೋಂದಾವಳಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಶ್ರೀ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಚೈತನ್ಯ ಮಹಾರಾಜರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಸಂಸಾರಿಗಳಾದ ಭಕ್ತಜನರು ಒಂದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದರಂತೆ: "ನಾವು ಸಂಸಾರಿಕರು. ನಮಗೆ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಹೊಲಮನೆ, ದನಕರುಗಳು - ಮುಂತಾಗಿ ಅನೇಕ ಉಪಾಧಿಗಳಿವೆ. ತಾವು ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನಾಮಸ್ಮರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಸತತವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಲೀ, ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನನ್ನು ಏಕಾಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ಧ್ಯಾನಿಸುವುದಾಗಲಿ ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪಕಾಲ ಒಂದೇ ಚಿತ್ತದಿಂದ ಜಪ ಮಾಡುವುದಾಗಲೀ ನಮಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲವಾಗಿದೆ. ಇಂಥ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ಭಗವಂತನ ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ಕಾರವನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವುದು ಹೇಗೆ? ನಮ್ಮಂಥವರಿಗೆ ಪರಮಾರ್ಥ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾವುದು? ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಡಿ."
         ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಶ್ರೀ ಮಹಾರಾಜರು ಉತ್ತರಿಸಿದರು : "ನೀವು ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನು ಈ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಪಾಲನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ನಾನು ಅವರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏನೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕಾದ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಿದೆಯೋ ಅದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡಿ ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು. "ಈ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಿದಿರಿ?" ಎಂದು ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನಾನವನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು - ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಮನೆ ಹೊಲ ದನಗಳೇ - ಮುಂತಾದ ಎಲ್ಲದ್ರ ಬಗ್ಗೆಯೂ ನಾನು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತರ ಹೇಳಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಮತ್ತೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿ. ಇದರಿಂದ ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಸಾರದ ಯಾವುದೇ ವಸ್ತುವನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದಾಗ "ಇದು ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನದು, ನನಗೆ ಅವನು ಇದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನೆ. ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವನ್ನು ಆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಬೇಕು" ಎಂಬ ಭಾವವು ಹುಟ್ಟುವುದು. ಕೆಲವು ದಿನ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿ ಈ ಭಾವನೆಯನ್ನು ರೂಢಿಸಿಕೊಂಡರೆ, ಕಾಲಾಂತರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ರೂಢಿಯಾಗಿ, ಮುಂದೆ ಸಹಜವಾಗಿಯೇ ಆ ಭಾವನೆಯು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಂತಃಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡುವುದು. ಇದರಿಂದ ಮುಂದೆ 'ನನ್ನದು' ಎಂಬ ಅಭಿಮಾನವು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗಿ, ಒಳಗೂ ಹೊರಗೂ ರಾಮಭಾವನೆಯು ವ್ಯಾಪಿಸಿಬಿಡುವುದು. ಈ ಸಾಧನೆಯನ್ನು ಬಿಡದೆ ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಮಾಡಿ ನೋಡಿರಿ. ಶ್ರೀರಾಮನ ಸಾಕ್ಷತ್ಕಾರವಾಗದಿದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗ ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ಕೇಳಿರಿ" ಎಂದರಂತೆ.
             ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಬಲವಾದಂತೆ ಸಂಸಾರದ ಬಂಧನಗಳೂ ಸಡಿಲವಾಗಿ, ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಓಟ ತೀವ್ರವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ದೇವರು ನೋಡುವುದು ಭಕ್ತನ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಹೃದಯಗಳನ್ನೇ ಹೊರತು ಆತ ಸನ್ಯಾಸಿಯೋ, ಸಂಸಾರಿಯೋ ಎಂಬುದುನ್ನಲ್ಲ.

ಎರಡು ತಲೆಮಾರು


    ಎರಡು ತಲೆಮಾರು ಇದೊಂದು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಕೃತಿ. ನಾಡಿನ ಹೆಸರಾಂತ ಗಣ್ಯವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು, ಸಾಹಿತಿಗಳು, ಪತ್ರಕರ್ತರು, ಸಮಾಜಿಕ ಕಾರ್ಯಕರ್ತರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹಲವಾರು ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ತಮ್ಮ ಬಾಲ್ಯ, ಬೆಳೆದು ಬಂದ ಬಗೆ, ತಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಪ್ರಭಾವ ಬೀರಿದವರು, ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವನ ರೂಪಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆ-ತಾಯಿಗಳು ನೀಡಿದ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರ ಇತ್ಯಾದಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾರೆ. ತೀರಿಕೊಂಡ ತಮ್ಮ ತಂದೆಯ ನೆನಪಿಗಾಗಿ ಅರವಿಂದ ಚೊಕ್ಕಾಡಿ ಸಂಕಲಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಬಗೆಯದು.

      ಇದು ಎರಡು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳ ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಸಂಗಮ. ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ತಲೆಮಾರು ಕೂಡ ತನ್ನ ಹಿಂದಿನ ತಲೆಮಾರಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಾಮ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು, ಭಿನ್ನತೆಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ. ಅಂತಹ ಎರಡು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆಸೆಯುವ ಕೊಂಡಿ ಇದಾಗಿದೆ. ಆಸಕ್ತರು ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕವನ್ನು ಓದಿ ನೋಡಬಹುದು.

ಏಕೆ ಸೋಲುತ್ತೇವೆ?

          ಗೆಲ್ಲುವ ಎಲ್ಲ ಅವಕಾಶಗಳಿದ್ದೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಸೋಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆ ಅಂದರೆ ಆತ ದುರದೃಷ್ಟವಂತ ಅನ್ನುತ್ತೀರಾ? ಖಂಡಿತ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಆತನಿಗೇ ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಆತನನ್ನು ಅನೇಕ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳು ಕೈಹಿಡಿದು ಜಗ್ಗುತ್ತಿರುತ್ತವೆ. ಅಹಂಕಾರವೊಂದೇ ಸಾಕು; ಅದು ಗೆಲುವಿನ ಮೊದಲ ಶತ್ರು . ಸೋತೇನೆಂಬ ಭಯ, ಆತ್ಮ ನಿಂದನೆ, ಕೀಳರಿಮೆ, ಸರಿಯಾದ ಪ್ಲಾನ್ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು, ಖಚಿತವಾದ ಗೋಲ್ಗಳಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು, ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನು ಮುಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾಕುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುವುದು, ಮನೆ ಮಂದಿಯೆಲ್ಲರ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊತ್ತು ಬಿಡುವುದು, ಯಾವುದರ ಮೇಲೂ ಗಮನ ಕೇಂದ್ರೀಕರಿಸಲು ಸಾದ್ಯವಾಗದೇ ಹೋಗುವುದು, ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಲಾಭಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಮಟ್ಟದ ದೂರದರ್ಶಿತ್ವ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದನ್ನೂ ತಾನೇ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇನೆನ್ನುವುದು, ಕಮಿಟ್ಮೆಂಟೇ ಇಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು, ಸರಿಯಾದ ತರಬೇತಿ ಇಲ್ಲದೇ ಹೋಗುವುದು, ಹಿಡಿದ ಕೆಲದ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ತೀರುತ್ತೇನೆ ಎಂಬ ಹಟದ ಕೊರತೆ, ಯಾವುದನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬ ಪರಿಜ್ಞಾನವಿಲ್ಲದಿರುವುದು-ಇವೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಗೆಲುವಿನಿಂದ ಹೊಂದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಳೆದುಬಿಡುತ್ತವೆ
