3.    Chief Minister’s Police Medal for Gallantry for armed encounter with a Naxalite in 1993 in Dindigul and for apprehending Elephant poachers after a gun battle on 25.01.2001 in the Madumalai Reserve forests.

4.    President’s Police Medal for Meritorious Service 2005

5.    Award of Appreciation letter of the Director General of Police, Tamil Nadu for saving the lives of 56 passangers of Cheran express Train that derailed at Ambur on 28.01.2007

ದಡ್ಡರಿಗಾಗಿ ಮಾತ್ರ

 ನಾವು ದಡ್ಡರು. ನಮ್ಮಿಂದ ಏನು ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಮ್ಮ ಬುದ್ಧಿಶಕ್ತಿ ಕಡಿಮೆ ಇದೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಹಣೆಬರಹ ಸರಿಯಿಲ್ಲ. ಎಲ್ಲರಿಂದಲೂ ತಿರಸ್ಕೃತಗೊಳಗಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ. ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶಾಭಾವನೆಯೇ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತಾಗಿದೆ. ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವು ದಡ್ಡರಲ್ಲೇ ದಡ್ಡರು. ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ಹಾಗಾದರೆ, ಈ ಕೆಳಗಿನದನ್ನು ಓದಿ:

ಆಲ್ಬರ್ಟ್ ಐನಸ್ಟೀನ್ ಬಾಲಕನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಶಾಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ `ದಡ್ಡ' ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ! ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನೆಂದೂ ಏನನ್ನೂ ಸಾಧಿಸಲಾರ' ಎಂದು ಅವನ ಶಿಕ್ಷಕರು `ಭವಿಷ್ಯ' ನುಡಿದಿದ್ದರು! ಮುಂದೆ ಐನಸ್ಟೀನ್ ಅತಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಐಕ್ಯೂ ಇರುವ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ! ನೊಬೆಲ್ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಪಡೆದರು. ನೊಬೆಲ್ ಪಡೆದ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಾವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ.


ಟ್ರಾನ್ಸಿಸ್ಟರ್‌ನ್ನು ಆವಿಷ್ಕರಿಸಿ ೧೯೫೬ರಲ್ಲಿ ಭೌತಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ನೊಬೆಲ್ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಪಡೆದ ವಿಲಿಯಂ ಶಾಕ್ಲಿ ಬಾಲಕನಾಗಿದ್ದಾಗ ಬುದ್ಧಿಶಕ್ತಿಯ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಮಾಧಾನಕರ ಅಂಕ ಪಡೆಯದೇ ಸೋತಿದ್ದ!


ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಬೆಳೆದಂತೆಲ್ಲ ಅವರ ಬುದ್ಧಿಶಕ್ತಿ ಹೇಗೆ ಬೆಳವಣಿಗೆಯಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ತಿಳಿಯಲು ಯೋಜನೆಯೊಂದನ್ನು ಹಾಕಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲಾಯಿತು. ಈ ಯೋಜನೆಗಾಗಿ ಆಸೆಯಿಂದ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಆಲ್ವರೆಜ್. ಆತನೂ ಸಮಾಧಾನಕರ ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯದೇ `ಫೇಲ್' ಆದ. ಮುಂದೆ ಇದೇ ಲೂಯಿಸ್ ಆಲ್ವರೇಜ್ ಎಲಿಮೆಂಟರಿ ಪಾರ್ಟಿಕಲ್‍ಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಸಂಶೋಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ೧೯೬೮ರ ಸಾಲಿನ ನೊಬೆಲ್ ಪುರಸ್ಕಾರ ಪಡೆದ!

ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾವು ದಡ್ಡರು ಅಂತ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಎಲ್ಲ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದಡ್ಡರೇ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತೇವೆ. ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಮೈ ಕೊಡವಿ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತರೆ...

ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಘಂಟೆ ಏಕೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ?

                  ಪ್ರಾಚೀನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಗಳು ಈಗಿನಂತೆ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ದಟ್ಟ ಅರಣ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಅರಣ್ಯವೆಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕ್ರೂರ ಪ್ರಾಣಿಗಳ, ವಿಷ ಜಂತುಗಳು ಇದ್ದೇ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ. ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವ ಭಕ್ತರು ಅನ್ನ ಪ್ರಸಾದಗಳನ್ನು ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿನ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ನೇವೈದ್ಯ ನೀಡಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಆ ಆಹಾರ ತಿನ್ನಲು ಮತ್ತು ಕೆಲವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಮಳೆ ಚಳಿ ಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದ ರಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಅರಣ್ಯ ಜೀವಿಗಳು ಆಶ್ರಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಇಂಥ ಸಂದರ್ಭದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವರ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆಂದು ಬರುವ ಭಕ್ತರಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಿ ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಕ್ರಮಣ ಮಾಡುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಭೀತಿ ಉಂಟು ಮಾಡಲು ಹಾಗೂ ಗರ್ಭಗುಡಿಯಿಂದ ಓಡಿಸಲು ಘಂಟೆಯನ್ನು ತೂಗಿಬಿಡಲಾಗುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಘಂಟೆ ಬಾರಿಸಿದ ತಕ್ಷಣ ಅವು ಹೆದರಿ ಹೊರಗೆ ಓಡಿ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು. ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ಮುದುರಿ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಎಲ್ಲೋ ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಕೂರುತ್ತಿದ್ದವು.

                  ಇಂದು ನಾವು ಅದೇ ಘಂಟೆಯನ್ನು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ತೂಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮಲಗಿರುವ ದೇವರು ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದು ಘಂಟೆ ಬಾರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ...! ಹೇಗಿದೆ ನೋಡಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೂಢಾಚಾರ.....?
